Covid-19 Notifier (Co.No.)

Our project, Covid-19 Notifier or Co.No. in short, is an attempt at establishing a medium of direct communication between the government and the citizens in order to deliver fully verified information. Our project also aims at creating awareness among users and sending them real time updates of changes in status and guidelines in their localities and districts. It also helps users by giving them location-based updates and alerts while they're traveling by showing them the safest route that tries to bypass as many risky zones as possible. Co.No. also provides information about the nearest healthcare facilities and has an updated list of emergency contact numbers easily accessible to its users. Considering the huge diversity in the potential user base of the app, it would be available in all major Indian languages and the official guidelines would be simplified and personalized (based on locality status, age, etc) thereby reducing the cognitive load on them too. The app not only aims at keeping its users alert and safe but also reassures them by giving them only verified data along with its official sources too. The non-app aspect of our project has the same core goal, of providing realtime location-based updates at their fingertips. Keeping in mind, that there are still a lot of people who still don't own a smartphone or have steady Internet connectivity, we have tried to provide updates offline to them. We make use of regular SMS and IVRS services for the same, with a simple initiatialisation step of sending an SMS with their current locality and age to the server. They can then receive all updates of their area and official guidelines on their feature phones and stay safe in these tough times.
